Product Description

This is another high-quality piece of fall arrest gear from DBI-SALA. Providing one hundred percent tie-off and rescue loops, the Force2 Rescue Lanyard has the added capacity for leading edge work and the ability anchor yourself at foot level if you have no overhead tie-off available.

Primary Use:

The Force2 Rescue Lanyard 1242550 is a piece of personal protective equipment (PPE) designed for specialized fall protection while climbing or working at heights without overhead attachment points. The 1242550 is often used by wind energy technicians because of the weight savings offered by the aluminum Saflok rebar hooks and because they are often working at the top of the nacelle where overhead points are hard to come by.

Safety Standards Met:

Recognized by OSHA for safety in the event of a 12 ft. free fall by one person under 310 lbs. combined weight.

Who Uses This:

The Force2 Rescue Lanyard 1242550 is ideal for climbers working on the outside edge of projects, the tops of wind energy turbines, or other sites such as silos and rooftops where no overhead attachment points capable of holding 5,000 lbs. are available.

Key Features:
  • Designed for foot level anchorage
  • Can be used by workers with combined weight up to 420 lbs.
  • Can arrest a 12 ft. free-fall for workers with combined weight under 310 lbs.
  • Twin-lanyard legs for 100 percent tie off
  • High visibility lanyard sheath

Why We Recommend It:

If weight isn't an issue, buy the Rescue Lanyard with steel Saflok rebar hooks. But if you climb daily, remember you are saving almost 2 lbs. for that extra $40. Add that up over all the times you climb, and you may be taking an extra ton of weight up your ladder or tower. We say Light is Right!

How To Use It:

OSHA recognizes a dual rating system for specialty equipment like this which depends upon the weight of the user and their equipment. If the worker and gear weighs between 310 lbs. and 420 lbs. they must hook in within 3 ft. of their dorsal D-ring. For workers with combined weight below 310 lbs. the unit is capable of stopping a 12 ft. drop safely, so you can move your tie off the full 6 ft. length away from the anchor point. See the user manual for a full explanation before deploying the unit.
