DBI-SALA 1244456 ShockWave 2 Shock Absorbing Lanyard with D-Ring
The DBI-SALA 1244456 100% Tie-Off lanyard is the answer for jobs that require a lanyard and SRL be used in combination. The reason for this product (listed below), is that only one connection at a time is allowed per d-ring. The built-in d-ring extender answers this problem.
This ShockWave 2 Shock Absorbing Lanyard with D-Ring for SRL Attachment allows for complete freedom of movement, reduction in trip fall hazards, and associated dragging and snagging due to its stretchable lanyard. The twin-legs allow the user to keep one leg attached to the anchorage, while the other leg is always ready to be hooked to the next anchorage, thus remaining connected at all times.
In its contracted state, the lanyard measures 4-1/2 feet and expands up to 6 feet. In order to limit arresting forces to no more than 900 pounds, the ShockWave 2 incorporates a unique inner core that extends to absorb energy during a fall.
Per OSHA regulation 1926.502 Section d � �snap hooks shall not be engaged to a d-ring to which another snap hook or other connector is attached�. Thus, on a standard harness/lanyard combo, you are unable to put both a lanyard and SRL snap hook into the back d-ring of the harness simultaneously. This particular Shockwave2 lanyard has a d-ring extension such that the SRL can be connected to this extension while the lanyard remains attached to the back d-ring of the harness. This is useful in work situations where the user needs to have a lanyard and an SRL simultaneously attached to the back d-ring of the harness.
The ShockWave 2 meets or exceeds all applicable industry standards including OSHA, ANSI and the stringent ANSI Z359.
For increased longevity and durability, the ShockWave 2 has an abrasion resistant tubular webbing. It also has a unique impact indicator which allows the user to give the lanyard a quick visual inspection to determine if it has been involved in a fall and needs to be retired.
