The Ultra-Lok Self Retracting Lifeline from the fall safety experts over at DBI/SALA is an ingenious piece of fall arrest kit which gives you all the flexibility of an SRL (reduced clearance requirements and less on site tripping - compared to a fixed lanyard) along with an excellent new feature: the automatic rescue system (or the RSQ system as they say...). This two in one operation let’s you choose the ideal set up for your work sites, as needed.
When in rescue mode the ULTRA-LOK will arrest the fall, via the speed sensing brake (keeping fall forces within OSHA limits). After the fall has been halted, a special centrifugal brake will kick in, automatically lowering the wearer to the ground, safely and slowly.
The Ultra-Lok is built out of strong stuff: the thermoplastic and zinc plated steel housing protect the innards and keeps the device running smoothly throughout its life (although if you need something more durable, it is well worth checking out DBI/SALA’s Sealed Blok SRL, which is completely weather proof).
The Ultra-Lok is fall protection from 75lbs to 310lbs in weightl keep fall forces below 900lbs, preventing any injury to your team. While weighing only 19lbs, and with a built in carrying handle the LOK is incredibly easy to transport.
The line is a generous 50ft long, 4.7mm thick galvanized steel cable; more than adequate for the vast majority of work sites. Should you need a tougher line, stainless steel cabling is on offer too; making the UltraLok great for coastal, or marine sites where salt water might damage a lesser line.
DBI-SALA's equipment tracking system, i-Safe, it allows you to easily scan and log the serial numbers of you equipment (via a handheld scanner) and automatically push and store these in the secure online portal. This allows you to easily track required checks and accountability on all your equipment, greatly reducing the paperwork burden on any equipment manager. The RFID tags used in this system need no batteries and the tags are saltwater, grease and dust resistant, so they should function at least as long as the Ultra-Lok itself!
