DBI/SALA
DBI/SALA is located in Red Wing, MN where they have been manufacturing a wide range of fall protection products for over 50 years. One reason that they have been a preferred vendor of ours for over 20 years is that they are easy to do business with. Add to that a near constant flow of innovative new products, and you can see why we usually list DBI first.

UltraLok
The Ultra-Lok from DBI/SALA is a family of retractables that are available in either 1 in. nylon webbing or wire rope. Either galvanized or stainless steel cable may be ordered. The housing is made from heavy duty polyurethane with aluminum side plates, which offers light weight and durability. Unique to this product is the audible clicking when the lifeline moves in or out.

Talon
The Talon from DBI/SALA features a durable nylon housing and nylon webbing. This very light weight design has an integral anchor connector that makes it very easy to attach the unit directly to your full body harness. The economical price combined with a low 3 lb weight makes this an ideal alternative to using a lanyard.

Sealed
The unique and patented Sealed series of SRLs from DBI/SALA offer a really cool alternative for the harsh environments that you may run into. The working guts of the unit are contained inside a sealed portion of the aluminum and stainless steel housing. This keeps dirt, water and crud out of the gears and brakes. In a normal industrial setting, this may not be much of an advantage. But take the Sealed SRL to an oil rig or waste treatment plant and you’ll see why DBI went to all this trouble. Available with galvanized or stainless steel wire rope.

Heavy Duty
The Heavy Duty series of retractables from DBI/SALA is intended for those applications where a lesser unit has already failed due to rough treatment and abuse. The high strength aluminum housing and beefed up internals are engineered to take a pounding. Available with nylon webbing or galvanized cable.

Protecta
Protecta is now part of the Capital Safety Group, which also owns DBI/SALA, and is located in Red Wing, MN. In 2007 Protecta will celebrate 50 years in the fall protection business. The Protecta brand is focused on basic products of exceptional value, and their Self Retracting Lifelines have been among our most popular for this reason.

Rebel
The Rebel from Protecta is a family of 11 ft and 20 ft webbing retractables that feature an aluminum housing. This is a little unusual at their price point, and makes for a rugged device, if a little heavy. To save weight and size, the Rebel combines internal braking with a shock absorber pack that is built in to the end of the 1 in. polyester webbing lifeline. The 11 ft unit with a standard snap hook weighs 3.1 lbs. A wide variety of attachment options make this a versatile product.

JRG Standard SRL
The JRG from Protecta is an economical series of metal cable retractables with thermoplastic housings. Lightweight and dependable protection for the value conscious buyer is the focus of this model.

Miller Fall Protection
Miller is located in Franklin, PA and has been making quality fall protection equipment for over 50 years. They are part of the Bacou-Dalloz group of companies, which has recently changed its name to Sperian. Miller manufactures a complete line of fall protection equipment, including harnesses and lanyards, though we are featuring their SRLs here.

Scorpion
The Scorpion from Miller is a family of 9 ft webbing retractables. The aluminum housing is similar to the Rebel from Protecta. The lightweight and rugged design has a large number of attachment variations available. The unit itself weighs 2.9 lbs with a standard snap hook on the lifeline.

Black Rhino
The Black Rhino> from Miller is designed with stainless steel wire rope. While not as lightweight as units using web lifelines, the stainless cable does have the advantage of chemical and spark resistance. The aluminum housing is rigged, and a variety of attachment options are available.

MiniLite
The MightyLite is a family of SRLs available in both webbing and wire rope versions. The housing is a combination of aluminum casting and stainless steel side plates. This allows one of the best weight to length ratios in the business. Miller offers this unit with a tag line and carabiner as standard, though it may be ordered without these to save money.

Falcon
The Falcon from Miller is a line of SRLs that have a thermoplastic housing and wire rope lifeline that is available in either galvanized or stainless steel. This high impact housing is claimed to be nearly indestructible, with stainless steel and aluminum internal parts to offer extended life in service.
